Political tailwind in favour of the C-LIEGE measures in Montana paves the way for the introduction of differentiated fees for loading / uploading as well as the enactment of access “time windows”. Funding will be made available in the 2013 budget following a final decision by the municipal administration due to be made in January 2013. The planned timeframe for implementation is March-May 2013. These measures are to be complemented by a freight map for appropriate routes and vehicular restrictions which is a popular tool among local stakeholders to reduce the average daily number of freight vehicles entering Montana city. Montana will secure the future of its sustainable city logistics commitment by a local freight development plan and freight quality partnership due to be consolidated in two upcoming round tables.
New access schedules and fee schemes for freight vehicles in Montana
Montana changes two municipal regulations to pave the way for the implementation of financial and organisational measures from the C-LIEGE portfolio. In order to encourage night deliveries, shared logistics services and the use of newer delivery vehicles, two legal ordinances governing the organisation of the local mobility and the access of freight vehicles will be revised. In accordance with the vehicle category, the date of first registration, the place and timeframe of delivery, freight operations will be charged differently.
C-LIEGE starts a partnership with CycleLogistics and Transport Learning in Bulgaria
Considering the coherent and mutually complementing goals of the projects C-LIEGE, CycleLogistics and Transport Learning, which are currently implemented under the Intelligent Energy Europe Programme, the mayor of Municipality Montana Mr Zlatko Zhivkov and the executive director of the Energy Agency Plovdiv Ms Lijana Ajarova laid officially the foundation of a cross-project partnership in Bulgaria on the 12th June 2012.
C-LIEGE at the Expo "Europe for us" 2012 in Sofia
For a second consecutive year Expo "Europe for Us" has gathered at one place all interested parties in the process of implementation of EU programmes in Bulgaria such as their Managing Authorities, the representation of the EU Commission in Bulgaria, consultant companies and NGOs, beneficiaries as well as banks offering preferential terms for financing of EU funded projects. The event took place from 16th to 18th June 2012 in Sofia.
Montana starts a wide public campaign for sustainable urban freight transport
The Municipality in Montana vigorously campaigns for its first project dealing with theadministrative management of urban freight transport. Since June 2011, the municipaladministration is actively engaged in a public-private partnership with the aim to efficiently organiseurban freight flows for more energy efficiency and less CO2 emissions.
